Secret 6: Compound Success Using Triggers & Habits

Congrats! You’ve reached the 6th step in this time management mastery course. Here is a quick overview below of what I’ll be teaching you about. Make sure to click on the “Mark Complete” button below to move to the next step.

  • Lesson 1: Triggers
    • Triggers help you develop new habits on top of what you are already doing. This is the compound effect.
    • Use existing planned events or routines as reminders that make it easy for you to implement new action steps that can transform into habits. They stack upon each other.
    • Triggers help you avoid overwhelm. You’re simply doing one additional action step during/before/after what you are already doing.
    • Choose one trigger in your life to connect with one major success habit at a time in each life area every 1 to 3 months, not multiple.
    • Choose any major life area such as Health, Relationships, Finances, etc.
      • Examples:
        • Health trigger: upon waking up in the morning
          • Success Habit: drink 16 oz of water to hydrate
        • Relationship trigger: when you walk through the door after work
          • Success Habit: immediately greet your spouse first with a hug and a kiss.
        • Financial trigger: every time I get paid online/check deposit
          • Success Habit: pay 10% to charity and 20% to savings
